Plastic Machine Operator

Columbus, GA


NUDURA – The leader of Manufactured Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), the simple path to a better built environment, is currently looking for an experienced, motivated, and determined individual. If you want to affect change in the way our world is built, then come join our team as a Plastic Machine Operator.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Pick pins from box, inspect pins for quality (ie. length) and place pins in trays.
-Pull webs from the rack of the Husky machine and inspects for quality.
-Ensure quality by performing weight and stretch tests once per pallet, for each web.
-Complete the production sheet according to production performance and quality checks.
-Restart machine as needed.
-Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
-Team lift boxes.
-Operate up to four machines all within the Husky department.
-Pull pins from recycled webs, and recycle plastic by placing into granulator.
-Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
-Cross-trains on other production positions to provide assistance as business need dictates.
-Performs other related duties as required, requested or assigned.
-Reports all quality and mechanical issues to Maintenance Department.
-Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through the proper channels.
-Report all safety hazards to immediate Supervisors if not able to correct the issue.
-Clean and maintain the area in the Alessio department to ensure proper functionality.
-It is the responsibility of the Plastic Machine Operator to report any violations of departmental procedure to their immediate supervisor

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION

-High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.
-Previous experience in a warehouse or plant preferred.

-Demonstrates accepted ethical and professional business behavior.
Completes and maintains all required training. Reports suspected violations including those of a business associate.

-Adheres to all OSHA safety standards and reports hazards appropriately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

-This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
-The facility environment can reach extreme heat and cold with no HVAC system to moderate in the changing seasons
-While performing the duties of this job, employee must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product specifications, material identification, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
-Husky machines are above the minimum but below the maximum decimal level, ear plugs are available.
-This position requires close toed, good soled shoes, as the floor may at times become slippery when wet
-Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, squat, reach, grab, pull, push and lift items that can weigh from 25-50 pounds.
-Performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to both the production floor which may contain fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud with constant interruptions and frequent discussions/conversations with staff regarding schedules and needs.
-This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. The standard workday schedule is set by the Plant Manager with two shift options (day and evening).
-Job may require overtime due to seasonal demands at the request of the Plant Manager
