This retirement home focused on energy efficiency in its construction to reduce utility costs and provide the most comfortable living environment for its around 100 residents. In addition to the use of Insulated Concrete Forms, the building utilizes Nudura® 4" Hydrofoam, geothermal power and triple pane windows. With the frigid climate and high winds, ICFs enable a safe and warm interior safe.

Compared to the other building methods the team had used in the past, they found ICFs to be much faster in creating a structurally sound envelope to then move onto the other trades. This speeds the construction process which ultimately saves money on equipment and labor.

Why We Chose ICFs for Heritage Square

In this video, owner Grant Morgan explains the benefits of ICFs for this retirement living center. Citing the ease of construction, he says there's no other way where you can "build a 62,000 square foot building using a drywall saw and a utility knife and a rubber hammer."
